IRS extends tax filing deadline to May-17-2021

IRS has extended 2020 federal tax filing and payment deadline for individuals to May-17-2021. You do not need to file extension if you file by this date. The IRS urges taxpayers who are due a refund to file as soon as possible. Most tax refunds associated with e-filed returns are issued within 21 days.

This extension may not apply to state tax filing and payment deadline. Check with your state tax agencies for those details.

We suggest not to wait until extended date. If you have balance due you can file now and schedule tax payment by May-17 and if you have refund, you will receive the same faster.
